Obituary of Helen Marie Elborne
HELEN MARIE ELBORNE (née HOLO)
January 24, 1935 - September 24, 2017
It is with much sadness that her family announces the passing of Helen Marie Elborne, peacefully in her home on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Helen was born in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan on January 24, 1935 to Helmer and Hilda Holo. She was predeceased by three brothers, Herbert, Thomas, and Leroy; and three sisters, Thelma, Ruth, and Lilian. Helen was a long-time resident of Regina with her loving husband Keith Arthur (Art) Elborne. She dedicated her life to being a devoted and caring wife and mother. Helen was the hardest worker any of us ever knew, and there was nothing that she wouldn’t do for her family. She was an exceptional cook, and she delighted in sharing her hearty meals and tasty treats with her many friends and family. Helen loved reminiscing about good times during family gatherings, regaling friends with jokes and songs, cheering hard for the “Riders”, and of course, proudly gushing over the accomplishments of her two boys. These are just a few of our cherished memories of her that we will hold dear in our hearts forever. Helen will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband Art; sons, Greg (Marilyn) and Jeff (Karen); her granddaughter Alyssa; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families. Nothing brought Helen more joy in her life than spending precious moments with her family and loved ones. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. In honour of Helen’s dedication to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and since her service is on the day of a Rider game, please feel free to wear your favourite Rider Gear to her service.
