Obituary of Paul John Beitel

June 26, 1930 - September 25, 2017

It is with great sadness the family of Paul John Beitel announces his passing at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, Regina with his family at his side. Born on the family farm near Bayard, SK, Paul was 87 years old at the time of his passing. Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Catherine Beitel; brothers, Rudy and Al; sister Mary; in-laws, George and Beatrice Morrow; and other family members, Paul is survived by his dearly beloved wife of 60 years, Marjorie (Marge) (Morrow); daughter Gailene (Ken) Quadrio, Jody (Kohen and Sasha), Amber (Jaime) (Flynn and Stella), Todd (Georgia) (Dominic); daughter Donna, Torrey (Maureen); son David (Claudette), Amie (Keegan), Neil (Jannelle), Mark; daughter Janice (Karl Schroeder) and Paige. Paul is survived by his siblings, Emma (Martin), Adela; in-laws Hilda and Johann, Marilyn, Arlene (Barry), Evelyn, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Paul worked for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 35 years. He was also very active in a number of organizations, including, Edenwold Hockey Rink Board, Edenwold Catholic Church Parish Council, Knights of Columbus member, and Hamlet of Edgeley Town Council. In his retirement, he and Marge spent a lot of time at the cottage they bought at Katepwa Lake. Paul also enjoyed travelling to Australia to visit Gailene and Ken and their family. 

Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK on Tuesday, October 3 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, SK.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Santa Maria “Building Renewal Program”, 4215 Regina Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 0J5 or to a charity of your choice.  The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff members at Santa Maria for their care and concern for Paul during his stay.
