Obituary of Aaliyah Kayin Elizabeth Akanni
AALIYAH KAYIN ELIZABETH AKANNI
We are heartbroken to share the sudden and unexpected passing of our precious newborn daughter, Aaliyah Kayin Elizabeth Akanni, on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Aaliyah’s memory will be forever cherished by her Mommy Krystal Akanni (née Speiler); Daddy Oladiran Akanni; Loving Big Sister Amirah; maternal grandparents, Sylvia Spicer, Stewart Story, and Glen Spicer; maternal great-grandmother, Violet Hordos (Frank Mentes); and maternal great-grandparents, Janet and Wilf Story; paternal grandparents, Oladejo Joshua Akanni and Oluwatoyin Adijat Akanni; maternal uncles, Jason Speiler (Lindsay White) and their daughter, Shelby White and Kelly Speiler (Alysha Roberts); paternal aunt, Yewande Oluwasusi (Oluwatoyin) and their children, David and Michelle; paternal uncle, Olakanmi Akanni and his daughter, Christa-Bella; as well as many other extended family members and friends. Our little angel, Aaliyah, is now being taken care of up in Heaven by her maternal great-grandfathers, Joseph Hordos and Ted Nagyahazy; maternal great-grandparents, Julianna and Vilmos Hevesi; and paternal great-grandparents, Alhaji and Alhaja Ekemode. Aaliyah is now in the arms of God. She was the long-awaited answer to her Mommy and Daddy’s prayers. We were so excited for her birth, and had so many hopes and dreams for Aaliyah. She was so perfect, so beautiful, and so deeply loved and cherished. We are so glad to have had the time to cuddle her, rock her, sing lullabies to her, tell her about all her family, express all of the hopes and dreams that we had for her, and to tell her about all of the things that we yearned to do for her and teach her. We miss her more than words can ever say and her impact on our lives will span a lifetime. Her tiny footprints will be in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Dr. Kamencic for his compassionate care of Aaliyah’s mother, Krystal. Krystal wishes to express her sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all of those who provided assistance, love, and gentle care over the past few weeks, especially to her husband Oladiran, mother Sylvia, stepfather Stewart, grandmother Violet, her friends, Gayle and Nicole, and Harvest City Church. Funeral Service to honour Aaliyah will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make a donation, in memory of Aaliyah, to any Conexus Credit Union branch, to the Aaliyah Kayin Elizabeth Akanni Memorial Fund.
