Obituary of Lorelee Manning
On Saturday, November 25, 2017 Lorelee Manning passed away peacefully in Saskatoon, SK. She was predeceased by her father, John Manning; mother, Martha Manning; and brother, Raymond Manning. She is survived by her brother, Bill Manning; niece, Christine (Kenton) Zablotsky; great-niece and nephew Calla and Clark Zablotsky. She lived courageously with juvenile diabetes and was one of the early recipients of a diabetic islet cell transplant. She treasured the time she spent with her friends and family especially in the months prior to her passing. Lorelee greatly appreciated education and successfully completed a Bachelor of Sociology (McMaster), a Bachelor of Human Justice (Regina) a Bachelor of Social Work (Regina) and a Master of Social Work (Regina). She was a valued contributor to the Regina Community in her positions as the Social Justice Advocate for the Regina Welfare Rights Centre, as the Executive Director, for the Regina Council on Social Development Inc., as a Sessional Instructor for the University of Regina, and as a volunteer for the Saskatchewan Department of Justice. She also co-wrote social justice literature with several authors. Lorelee will be remembered for her resilience, compassion and humor. A Come and Go Gathering to Celebrate Lorelee's Life will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A brief program will begin at 12:15.
