HAGUE, Josephine (Jo) Marie
March 28, 1928 - November 29, 2017


Mrs. Josephine (Jo) Marie Hague passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Rockyview General Hospital, Calgary, Alberta at the age of 89 years. Jo was born on March 28, 1928 in Earl Grey, Saskatchewan but lived most of her life in Regina, Saskatchewan. She was the 9th child born to Rose and Anthony Fox, who had emigrated from Austria sometime after 1912. Jo was a great student and baseball player. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Little Flower Church and excelled in her secretarial courses in high school. She was a superb secretary in her business career and later was a devoted homemaker. Jo was always bright, generous and hospitable and her home was a joyful and welcoming place for others. Jo married Alfred (Alf) Hague on July 10, 1954 and they enjoyed almost 44 years of marriage until his passing in 1998. They had relocated to Calgary in 1986. They cherished their daughter Jayne and all their brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Jo is survived by her daughter Jayne, son-in-law Paul Blain and grandson Matthew Blain, of Calgary, Alberta as well as sisters-in-law Margaret Fox of Regina and Mary Hubick of Weyburn and many nieces, nephews and their families. Jo was predeceased by her parents, husband Alf and all of her eleven siblings and many dearly loved brothers- and sisters-in-law, namely: Tillie (Emil Schmidt) (John Flaman), Mary (John Lay), Emily (Joe Eisworth), Evelyn (Frank Schmidt), Anne (Ivan McKay), Rose (Bud Palmer), Tony (Elsie), Johnny (Eva), Paul (Iris), Peter and George. She was also predeceased by nieces Dolores Dodd, Marjorie Nichol, Janet Johnston, and Geraldine Bleasdale, and nephews Doug Schmidt, Ian McKay, Dale Palmer and Donn Hague. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Speers Funeral Home, 2136 College Avenue Regina, Saskatchewan on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Parish, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. and interment will be immediately following at Riverside Memorial Park, with a reception at 12:00 noon at the Travelodge Hotel, 4177 Albert St. South. Flowers gratefully declined. If you so wish, please donate to a charity of your choice. A special thank you to her physicians in Calgary, Dr. Joanna Mish, Dr. James Cohen and Dr. Han Friesen and all her Home Care and We Care aides and to friends Ruth and Joan, who made it possible for her to remain in her home until the last two weeks of life. Rest in peace dear Mom. You will be sorely missed.
