HAROLD HOLDRICH FORTMAN

Harold Fortman, late of Regina, SK, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the age of 96 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Jennie Fortman; his loving wife of 63 years Louise; son Arnold; brothers Paul, Earl, and William; and sister Henrietta. Harold is survived by his son, Clint (Vivian) of Rouleau, SK; grandchildren, Metal X of Regina, SK and Amanda (Chad) Sylvestre of Rouleau, SK; five great-grandchildren, Kiera, Austin, Hailey, and Bree Sylvestre of Rouleau, SK and Jericho X of Saskatoon, SK; sisters-in-law, Millie Heinen of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Margaret Fortman of Moose Jaw, SK; brother-in-law Ray Kosbab of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews. Harold was born on the farm north of Expanse, SK on November 4, 1921. The family then lived on various farms in the area until 1935 when they moved to a farm north of Swift Current, SK. Harold enlisted in the army in 1943 and, when discharged in 1946, moved to Moose Jaw, SK where he met the love of his life, Louise.  They were married on November 28, 1949 and continued to reside in Moose Jaw until 1954, when they moved to Regina where he resided until his passing.  As well as being an avid reader, Harold loved animals, especially cats and was a lifetime supporter of the Regina Humane Society. He worked construction for many years and in 1965, obtained employment with the RCMP Depot Division, where he remained until his retirement in 1986. Harold lived a good, happy life and was content with all that really mattered, his family and friends, who were his greatest joy. We were truly blessed to have had him in our lives for so long. Harold will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Funeral Service will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.  Flowers gratefully declined.  Friends so wishing, may make donations, in memoriam, to the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
