Obituary of David Poi Mah
DAVID POI MAH
David passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, sister-in-law, sister, and brother-in-law. David is survived by his loving wife, Mee Fong Mah; daughters, Betty (Wayne) Yee, Susan (David) Ryan, and Wendy Mah; son Jeffrey Mah; grandchildren, Denise and Christine Yee; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their children. Born in Canton Toisan, China, David came to Canada at the age of 18 and lived in Regina, SK. On August 9, 1958, he married Mee Fong Wong in Regina. David was employed as a cook for many years at the LaSalle Hotel until 1970. He and Mee then owned and together operated David Confectionery, retiring in 1997. David was a member of the Mah Society of Regina, Chinese Benevolent Association of Regina, as well as Regina Chinese Musical Club orchestra playing the Chinese fiddle. A very special thank you to the doctors and staff at Regina General Hospital 5E and Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for the kind, compassionate care David received. A Celebration of David’s Life will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Fong officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
