I just found out tonight of Jill’s passing. I’m sorry for your loss Shana and Bev. I had left a message for her in December and thought it strange she did not return my call. I regret not following up.
I had also run into Jill at Safeway a bit earlier and in “her way” she let me know she was dying. She did it with humour, reassured me she wasn’t scared, but didn’t really come out and tell me what was happening. I unfortunately didn’t get what she was telling me. I thought she was just making “cracks” as she so often did.
I’m sorry I missed her Celebration. I will always remember her cheerful greetings, her warmth, her humour, her dedication, her unending love for Vern, her service when I found myself in need of victim services and her acceptance.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Jill impacted so many lives in such powerful and positive ways and will be missed by so many.
My regards, Tracy Kydd

I was very saddened to hear of Jill's passing. My deepest sympathies to her family, friends and coworkers. I never had the pleasure to meet Jill in person but I was fortunate to have been on the receiving end of several wonderful phone calls. Jill always brought a smile to my face even when I was struggling. I always looked forward to the next call. Comfort, courage, hope, peace, strength and gratitude were all things Jill instilled in me through our conversations. I am grateful for all that she did for me and my family. I don't know where I'd be today without her support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Rest in peace Jill, you are an Angel in Heaven now.

Jill,
You touched many lives, including mine. You always had a smile and kind words to share. I always enjoyed popping into your office just to say "hi" and see how it was going.
Although I was saddened to hear that you had passed away, after reading your obituary, I smiled. Again, you found a way and reached out in a very personal way.
You will be missed and I am grateful that I had the opportunity through the Regina Police Service to work with you and know you.
I hope to see you when my time comes, but not too soon!
Until then,
Angie

Bev and Shana,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Many of my fondest childhood memories included you, Bev, and your mom. She was always there to pick us up at school with impeccable hair and makeup sporting some kind of denim, driving that monstrous station wagon with wooden panelling—truly emblematic of the 80s—to drop me off at home or take me to your place. She treated me as if I were a part of your family. I was always welcome and had a sense of belonging. In fact, you were one of a select few places where my mom (your token social worker) trusted me to be. Perhaps that trust had to do with the fact that both your mom and mine were dedicated people trying to help others, so my mom always knew I’d be in safe hands. I can still hear your mom’s voice in that answering machine saying that we have reached your humble abode—and it was wonderfully humble. Perhaps your home was a more modest, humble home by today’s gluttonous standards, but it was a space overflowing with love, heart, warmth, laughter, conversations, and personality.
I know all to well how empty one can feel losing a mom. It’s a grief that can makes us feel groundless and emotionally paralyzed for a long time. But a new normal will form, and I hope that throughout this messy emotional journey and as you start to pick up the pieces in the aftermath, you can find some comfort in your memories of her to keep going.

Best Obit Ever! Why am I not surprised at the way this is all playing out. Your flair for life and every day is visible in each word. You shared such a huge part of so many lives. Since your passing, I've found out that you've been actively involved in many of my friends lives and made differences for all of them. I thank you that you were there for them in their times of need.
To those you leave behind, we will enjoy sharing stories about antics and funny little things you said or did. You will be greatly missed, but knowing that every time your name is mentioned, its with a smile and a memory of you that they cherish.
To your family thank you for sharing this wonderful woman with us. I am so sorry for your loss. Your memories will be everlasting, as will ours.
Sleep peacefully Jill ..xoxo

Dear Jill, you always knew how to make people smile when they needed it most. Some things you said may have been inappropriate at times, but oh well, what are they gonna do...fire me. Lol. We had many lunches together where we all aired some dirty laundry, but no one could top yours sometimes.
Jill you will be missed at RPS. Sorry girls for your lose. Please keep your moms memories close to your heart.
