What a wonderful celebration of Gerry's life at the Cathedral this morning. I only met Gerry something more than a dozen times, mostly at the St. Elizabeth masses, but sometimes around Regina. I last saw him with Bernadette less than two weeks ago at the hospital as he was on his way in for some pre-surgery tests. He never failed to ask how my Mom and Dad were doing. I know him much better now through the moving and touching tributes by Bishop Don and Gerry's two daughters. I feel honoured and privileged to have known him and wish I had known him better. Unfortunately, I had a previous family commitment and could not stay to express my feelings personally. Although Mom and sister Cheryl were able to attend with me, Dad was unable to join us as he is in hospital himself. Sincere condolences to all of you from all of us.

Dear Bernadette: Our Sincere Sympathy to you and family. We enjoyed many musical happy times together. In addition to Gerry's wonderful singing voice, he brought extra talent, injecting actions, etc. in most all songs. We truly enjoyed Gerry both as a musician and a good man. What a wonderful visit we had at Government House last Canada Day. Sorry we are unable to be with you this morning, but certainly are thinking of you and Gerry and family. Our thoughts are with you. George and Peg

Dear Bernadette,
As this new year began just a short time ago, likely neither you nor Gerry, or any of your large family and wide circle of friends would have expected Gerry's sudden death. I am so very sorry for you and all the family. While I did not know Gerry personally, I knew of him, and more than once enjoyed his canting. What a dear and good man throughout his entire life. If I would not be away on Monday, I would surely have wanted to join all of your and Bishop Don for the celebration of Gerry's life and resurrection. I will be with you in spirit and with prayer from a distance.
Peace be with you,
Glenn

Most sincere condolences to Gerry's friends and family from Adam, Tillie, and Glenn Schwartz. I just saw Gerry and Bernadette last week at the hospital as I was on my way to visit Adam. Adam remains in hospital himself, so will be unable to attend the funeral. I am not sure if Tillie will be up for it either. I will be there to help celebrate Gerry's life.
