Obituary of Rose Marie Selinger

ROSE MARIE SELINGER

(née HERAUF)

Rose, late of Regina and formerly of Lajord, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Edward (2012); son Brian (2013); infant grandson Darcy (1981); and twelve brothers and sisters. Rose is survived by her children, Richard (Eleanor), Gordon (Denise), Brenda, Michele (Paul) Legrand, and Joanne (Scott) Symon; daughter-in-law Lynne; grandchildren, Dwayne, Darla, Deanne, Danielle, Kris, Carolyn, Tim, Vanessa, Declan, Michelene, Jeff, Renée, Philip, Cameron and their families. Also left to mourn are brother Jim (Pauline) Herauf; sister Irene Ell; sisters-in-law, Katie (Nick), Evelyn, Loretta, Martha, Clem Marie, Christina and Tillie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was born June 11, 1924 on the Joseph and Florence Herauf homestead near Davin. She and Edward farmed for many years at Speier Colony, Lajord. Mom was a woman not afraid of hard work and displayed independence within her family. Some of her hobbies included, singing, old time dancing, bowling, golfing, knitting, and puzzles. She also enjoyed watching baseball and curling. Rose was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. Thank you to the staff at Helping Hands Care Home for the compassionate care they provided in her final years. Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower R.C. Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations, in memoriam, may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, 600 – 60 St. Clair Avenue East, Toronto, ON M4T 1N5.
