Walter Ash

Obituary of Walter George Ash

Walter passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Walter, the ninth of eleven children, was born on February 14, 1936, in Qu'Appelle SK, which he always referred to as "God's Country.”  He is survived and will be remembered by his devoted wife of 62 years, Anna; his children Mike (Julie), Shannon (Troy), Cheryl (Bill) and Colleen (Rick); five grandchildren, Shaun (Raven), Laura (Justin), Elias, Stephanie and Madelayne (Justin); and four great-grandchildren, Shane, Jillian, Scarlett and Rachael; brothers Ralph, Al (Jocelyne) and Bill (Lois); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Walter's Life will be held on what would have been his 82nd birthday, at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.  Walter was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, and he never liked to wear a suit.  As such, the celebration will be casual.  Feel free to wear a Leafs or Jays jersey to the celebration. The family would like to thank Pasqua Hospital staff on 3-D and ICU for Walter's care.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Walter's name to the Regina Humane Society.
