Betty Bell

Obituary of Betty Louise Bell

Betty, passed from this earth on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard of Victoria, BC, and Robert of Regina SK; grandchildren, Erica, Mitchell, Michael, and Mason; sister-in-law Dodie Bell; and several close nieces and nephews. Betty’s beloved husband Dick passed away in 2011, and her daughter Robbin in 2009.  Betty’s parents, George and Harriet Plant also predeceased her. It is difficult to talk about Betty’s life without including Dick. Betty and Dick were a team!  Together they enjoyed family vacations, business ventures and winters in Arizona for many years. They hosted the Dick and Betty Bell Cosmopolitan Golf Classic which ran for 15 years, raising money for the Cosmopolitan Activity Centre in Regina. Betty also volunteered at the Centre.  Betty was a member at the Wascana Golf Club and the Queen City Kinettes Club.  Dick and Betty were instrumental in building several group homes in Regina for the mentally disabled. She was also an avid Roughrider fan. Betty enjoyed five years at the Bentley on Hillsdale where she made many friends and was the lady who unofficially welcomed all newcomers. A special thanks to the caring staff at Wintergreen Estates Care Home who looked after Betty in the last months of life. We would also like to thank Dr. Kriek for his excellent care over the years. Thanks to the staff at the Orange Tree Village where she lived in 2017, who kept her exercising. The family would especially like to thank John Bell, Jan Fluter, DeAnne Wood, and Dean and Peggy Bell for the love and care they have shown Betty in her final years. “U Bet she will be missed!”  In lieu of flowers, you may choose to make a donation to the War Amps, 2827 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, ON, K1V 0C4.  Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment will be held.
