Obituary of Margaret Teresa Ellis
It is with sadness we announce the matriarch of our family concluded her reign on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Her role as Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma is one she cherished. She was predeceased by husband Jack (1989); infant daughter Jane (1953); daughter Trudy (2010); and son-in-law Rick (2014). Peggy is survived by sons, Pat (Laurie), and Terry (Ardella); grandchildren, Chris, Lee, Regan (Gary), Erin (Michael), and Ginnie; great grandchildren, Morgan, Liam, Keegan, Brooke, Rylee, Aaden, Owen, and Logan; brothers, Philip, and Peter (Christine); sister-in-law Lillian Grainger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret Teresa Grainger (Peggy) was born on August 22, 1922 to parents George and Gertrude Grainger. Mum and Dad met during the war and married in 1945. As a war bride, leaving her family in England was a life altering experience for her. Mum was involved with the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans Association for 41 years. She held numerous positions within the organization and was honored for her dedication and commitment. Our many thanks to Mum’s friends at Davis Mews, for the care and attention given to Mum as her health declined. Also, to the staff at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, your compassion and help is greatly appreciated. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. For those wishing, donations in memory to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1-345 Third Avenue S, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1M6 would be appreciated.
