Obituary of Rosaline Sophie Donovan

Rosaline (Rose) Donovan passed away peacefully on May 16, 2018 at the age of 75 after ongoing issues with cancer.  Rose was predeceased by her loving husband James; her parents Elizabeth and Matthew Chaskavich; her sister Agnes; and her brothers Gordon and David.  Rose is survived by her daughters, Barbara, Patricia, and Darlene; two sons, Christopher and Darcy; as well as ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

As the oldest of eight kids, Rose was most passionate about family, especially children and babies.  She had a gift of being a “baby whisperer” who could bond with children so well in a short time that they would want to stay with her instead of their parents.  

Rose's second passion was the outdoors; especially camping.  She always said just give her a campsite with a long burning fire and she could stay there all summer long.  Rose loved to go for back road drives to search for wildlife and would get excited at the mere sighting of a deer.  She absolutely loved nature and preferred the countryside to the city.

Rose was also an avid Moose Jaw Warriors fan and rarely missed a chance to listen to a game on the radio or attend in person.  Her personal highlight was getting to meet current NHL superstar and former Warrior Brayden Point.  Go Warriors!

A special thank you to the many homecare staff who cared for Rose and the Palliative care unit at Regina Pasqua Hospital.  Also a special thank you to Willadell Garrick, who never met Rose, but made it possible for her to be properly cared for at home for as long as possible.
