Obituary of Robert Neal Soubolsky
Bob passed away peacefully with his family by his side, in palliative care at Pasqua Hospital, Regina, SK. He was predeceased by his parents, STEVE and SOPHIE (née FRANKO). Bob is lovingly remembered by wife JOANNE; two daughters SONJA and SAEDI; as well as many family and friends. Bob grew up in Watson, SK. While attending elementary and high school, he helped his parents and worked in their business, Watson Hatchery, where they diversified to include cowboy boots and jeans. In 1983, Bob moved to Regina and opened BRONCOS WESTERN OUTFITTERS INC., and became known as “BRONCO BOB”. He worked tirelessly, with his partners and brothers, Don and Dave, building his business to success and eventually four locations: Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, and Calgary. Bob enjoyed the perks of hard work, golf tournaments, near and far, CKRM fishing trips, travelling vacations with family and friends, Saskatchewan Roughrider games, Greenwater Lake cabin, Robin’s coffee, and times with his buddies. Many years later, after closing stores and selling out, Bob was diagnosed with colon cancer in August 2010. However, this was not to stop his entrepreneurial spirit, as he persevered through medical treatments and requirements. He joined CONTINENTAL FURNITURE and APPLIANCES. This gave him goals, purpose, teamwork, social life, and “pursuit of the sale” on a scooter! Thank you to the owners, management, and staff for showing compassion and support during his cancer journey, and thank you for his “retirement party”. To the Allan Blair Cancer Agency, doctors, medical specialists, and staff, thank you for the kindness and professionalism during difficult times and metastasis to lung and eventually brain. Special thanks to the palliative care unit, where Bob and his family received exceptional care in his last days. Those so wishing may make donations in memory of Bob, to Caring Heats/Palliative Care Unit, 200-2150 Scarth Street, Regina, SK S4P 2H7, www.caringheartssk.ca. Bob gave courage, wisdom, humour, generosity, and his beaming smile to all he knew. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
