PUSZKAR, Mary

On Wednesday, May 30, 2018 Mrs. MARY PUSZKAR, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anne; son William; first husband Roman; second husband Arsany Achtemichuk; great-grandson Connor; and numerous brothers and sisters, Mary is survived by her children, Theodore (Evelyn) of Regina, Zenon (Cathy) of Calgary, Stephanie (Jeff) of Asquith, Michael (Cindy) Frontier, Steven (Shauna Lee) of Regina, and Barbara (Jim) of Cremona, Alta; daughter-in-law Pamela of Dartmouth, NS; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous sisters and brothers, and nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Muchawka, Ukraine on April 7, 1930. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1931 and lived in various towns, Galalee, SK, Bateman, SK, and Radville, SK. Mary received her elementary education in Bateman and her high school in Radville.  She was married to Roman Puszkar in 1951, where they made their home until Romans passing in 1990. Mary worked for Canada Post starting in 1964/65 eventually becoming Post Mistress until she retired in 1991. After her first husband Roman's death in 1990, Mary married Arsany Achtemichuk (1992) eventually residing in Moose Jaw until Arsany's passing in 1999. Mary moved to Regina where she resided until her passing. Mom developed a circle of friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband Roman in the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, SK. Flowers and donations gratefully declined.
