Hi my name is Randy Kozlowski. Michael and I attended the Fort Quapelle summer music camp in 1989. He was a life long friend we had tons of crazy conversations about Jesus and quantum physics, one time in trying to tell me about relativity he showed me a 3. dimensional picture he had sketched of what he thought a time machine would look like . I believe that Mike was a genius and the. most intense person I have every known and the best classical guitar player I had ever heard in person We only got to see each other in person for maybe a hand full of times over the next thirty years. A few years ago Mike changed my life and told me that he would buy my guitar cd over any of the masters I was studying. It was my dream to do a cross Canada tour with him. Mike would come to see me in North Battleford, Saskatachewan and we would talk for hours and hours and my mother eventually forbid us from talking anything music related at the dinner table! I loved him so much. I was searching for him on facebook today and was shocked to see this. I would appreciate any family members to get a hold of me at randykozlowski@gmail.com or 250-527-0242. I have been both a student, and a teacher of martial arts to Michael for a number of years. He was my favorite and most dedicated student. I have watched him improve and grow with pride. I just found out today he passed on. I have no idea how, why, or where he passed on. It hurts to know he's gone. He was becomming a better person every day.

This is shocking. I knew Mike since 2001. Haven't talked to him in months. Mike would do his own thing during the time I knew him, always engaged in something creative. I just didn't think he was dead. Tragic. RIP brother.

My sympathies to Rosabelle and family on the passing of Michael. I have many fond memories of growing up with Michael during those early formative years of our childhood and youth. You and Ken always welcomed me into your loving and nurturing home and allowed us and others to express ourselves through music and humour. I will always remember Michael as a talented and passionate musician, a man of strong will, a sharp humour, a strong sense of loyalty and protection of those close to him and being true to himself. He did things on his terms - you either came along for the sometimes crazy ride that he led or you got out of the way. RIP Michael.

I'm so deeply sorry to know of Michael's passing, which I heard about from Cameron last week.
Over the last years it's been a bit of an "adventure" getting to know Michael, with his enthusiastic, brilliant interest in so many areas, and his occasional bursts of humour. During the past few years, Michael generously gifted me with all sorts of his specially roasted, exotic coffees - which I very much enjoyed.At times I was able to reciprocate with homemade pickled eggs, sprouts, and occasional bags of onions when I'd bought more than I could use. It was so nice that he was able to join us for Christmas dinner at my place, just 6 months ago.
Michael was "one of a kind", and he will be sadly missed. Thinking of you in this time of sorrow...
