Kay was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and friend.  Her greatest joy was her family who she loved unconditionally with her whole heart.  She was born and grew up on the family farm in St. Peter’s Colony near Kronau.  She had 13 siblings and was so proud of all of them. She married Tony in 1951 and moved to Kathrinthal Colony “14 Colony” where they raised five children. Kay and Tony moved to Regina in the early 80’s and have proudly remained in their home with their son Robert.  Mom worked hard as a homemaker all her life and took great pride in her tidy home and clutter-free cupboards.  She volunteered for 30 years as a hospital pastoral care worker, visiting and praying with patients and distributing Holy communion.  She loved singing and dancing to accordion music, laughing at Three’s Company and the Carol Burnett show, visiting family, friends and any one who wanted to chat.  Mom was a proud survivor of depression which gave her the ability to connect with anyone anywhere; through these trials her faith never waivered.  Her love for the Lord, strong Catholic faith and the promise of better days kept her going.  She was a wonderful cook who made the best goofy buns, breaded and creamed chicken, chocolate pudding and pies, pixies and rainbow slices.  Mom loved babies and could calm any fussy child. In the last few years Mom’s short-term memory was fading.  She could still lead the rosary which Dad and Mom recited daily.  Wonderword, Jumble, word search, making puzzles with Robert, music and days at William Booth Adult Day Program provided her with needed structure and much joy, especially on Bingo Day!  Saturday Polkarama on TV, visits from her family and her four-legged friends calmed her spirit. She loved flowers, the color Purple and HUGS!  What a beautiful soul!  Mom led a simple life, asked for nothing and gave so much.

The family wishes to thank our special nannies Marie and Elsie, Rev. Danilo Rafael, all Home Care Providers, Staff at William Booth Adult Day Program, Dr. Kimberly Taylor at RGH Emergency, extended family and friends.
