My Condolences to Thom and the Parker Family,
Seeing Jean's smiling face in the Globe today was a sad surprise, but in reading that beautiful obituary, it brought back memories of living in Regina. I had the pleasure and privilege for a short time of being Jean and Doug's neighbour, almost directly behind, on 19th Avenue. It was a wonderful group of neighbours and Jean was a big part of developing that sense of community. She walked around the neighbourhood a lot and always seemed to be smiling in her wonderfully quiet yet effective way, curious about people, kindness personified, and very proud of all her children. I can imagine what a great grandparent she was. My sympathy to all.

James & Anne, I just learned this morning of your mother's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. Saying good bye to a parent is incredibly difficult. I know you will take comfort knowing she lived a full life and her legacy lives on in each of you. Take care of one another. XOXO

(trying this again)
I was so sorry to hear of Jean's passing. I first met her in the 1990's through the Regina Multifaith Forum. She was a warm friendly person willing to learn about practices of other faiths.
After an absence of 7/1/2 years from the province in the early 2000's I reconnected with Jean - again through the Multifaith Forum.
I also met Gwen to whom and all others of her family I offer my sincere condolences.
In my tradition I hope Jean Parker's memory will be a blessing for all who knew her,

I have known and been influenced by Jean for 51 years. I met her at the Presbyterian Nursery School under Dorene Redshaw.
She has been a wonderful inspiration in my life. A lady to model my life by.
I offer condolences and prayers to each one of you in her precious family. She loved you all and spoke often of you.
So sorry Jack and I cannot travel to her funeral from Wasa, B.C. Her service will be in my prayers.
Bless you all. May your memories of Jean, sustain each one of you
Sincerely, Judy McPhee

Dear James, Jocelyn and family, Christine and family; and to all of Mrs. Parker’s loved ones:
I am so sorry to hear the news of your mom’s passing. I cherish my memories of being her across-the-lane neighbour, and especially remember commiserating with her over our garden woes. We were at very different times in our lives then, but her liveliness and curiosity erased the years between us. She always made me feel welcome. My thoughts are with you as you grieve her loss.

So sorry Anne, to hear of your Mom's passing. We didn't meet her in person often but especially remember the day you both came to Bob's cabin for a glass of wine and a couple of laughs and we always enjoyed hearing from you what she was up to.
Out thoughts are with you.

My deepest condolences on Jean's passing.
It was through the Regina Multi-faith Forum - where Jean was a mainstay - that we got to know one another. Her intellect and soul were inspiring, her kindness world changing.
Meeting and knowing Jean Parker was a privilege; she was a light to all of us and will be sorely missed.

Dear Anne & family of Jean,
I am so saddened to hear this news. Jean led such a full life. She had many travels and was such a beautiful, warm and generous person. I was honoured to be her friend on the Outreach & Social Action Ministry at Knox-Metropoloitan United Church for many years and came to highly respect Jean. I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend the service on Saturday .

To Anne, James, Gwen and all of Jean's family, I extend my deepest condolence. I was privileged and blessed to know Jean through my involvement in the multi-faith community in Saskatchewan. She never ceased to inspire me through her wisdom, courage and determination. Jean was a loving, caring person to everyone. Regina Multi-Faith Forum, Multi-Faith Saskatchewan and the global inter-faith movement have lost one of their most dedicated and devoted supporters. May we all hold Jean up as a role model in serving others, the pursuit of knowledge and being a voice for the voiceless.
