Shirley was a great lady, full of energy with her expressive voice. I will always remember her.
She had great moments of comedy. We were in the car at Indian Head if memory serves correctly, I am sure at a funeral. It was cooking hot outside and we were packed like sardines. The air conditioning in the car did not work well. We were in the back seat, I was on the outside and Shirley was sandwiched in the middle between me and someone else. I was getting way too hot and asked if the driver would stop a minute so I could jump out and take off my suit jacket. Once I had done that and got back in the car Shirley pipes up and says ' MY GOD.....I HAVEN'T HAD THAT EFFECT ON A MAN IN YEARS!!!!' The whole car roared! A great memory.
