Obituary of Mickelina "Lena" Kachaluba
KACHALUBA, Lena
It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Lena Kachaluba. Lena went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, November 16, 2018, at the age of 90 years. She was born on the family homestead in the Wallhala – Elfros District of Saskatchewan on August 10, 1928. Lena was one of thirteen children born to Nicholas and Julia Stolaryk. On September 4, 1954 she married Steve Kachaluba and together they were blessed with five children, daughters Jude, Therese (Rob), and Gloria; and sons Wayne and Tim (Tammy) all from Regina. They were further blessed with five grandchildren, Ryan (Wendy) Schaffer, Tessa (Tyler) Barton, Josh, Bailey, and Abby Kachaluba; three great-grandsons, Keegan and Austin Schaffer, and Wyatt Barton. Lena was a deeply religious person who devoted much of her time to her church and her family. She had a strong faith in God and she shared God’s message of salvation to all she knew. Lena cherished visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Steve on October 14, 2000; parents, Nicholas and Julia Stolaryk; and numerous brothers and sisters. In addition to her children, she leaves to cherish her memory numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lena was dearly loved and will be sadly missed! At the request of the family, a private ceremony will take place. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
