Obituary of Hope Theresa Kowalchuk

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hope Theresa Kowalchuk on December 1, 2018 with her family by her side.  She was predeceased by her parents Alex and Marion Shymko and sister Birdie Shymko.  Hope is survived by her loving husband Myron and their children Arnie (Alana), Ashley (Toeur), Alissa (Joel) (their children Cara and Arianna), Logan and Shaylyn; Arlene (Dale), Lisa (Chad), Leslee, Megan (Chris) (their children Jackson and Avery), Samantha (Mason); Allan (Leanne) their children Kaylee (Kyle) and Kyle (Serayla); Zora (Greg) and their children Ty (Morgan) (their children Tate and Aria), Courtney (Camille).  She will be dearly and deeply missed by all of her many friends and family members including her brothers Jack (Mary Anne) and Barry and numerous nieces and nephews. Hope was born December 15, 1936 in Ituna, Saskatchewan.  She attended schools in the Ituna area and moved to Regina to take a secretarial course.  She worked at Simpsons and the Royal Bank in Regina.  On October 13, 1957 she married the love of her life Myron and started their family.  She enjoyed going on many casino bus tours, watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders, watching curling, camping, playing cards, many visits to Sherwood Forest but most of all spending time with her family. A very special thank you to the amazing staff at the Regina General Hospital, the emergency room staff and the critical care doctors and nurses for their wonderful care and compassion given to mom and the family.  Prayers will be held at St. Athanasius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 55 McMurchy Avenue, Regina, SK, on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held at St. Athanasius Ukrainian Catholic Church on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143 Highway #6, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7 and/or Bright Eyes Dog Rescue, 1448 King Street, Regina, SK, S4T 4G4.
