Obituary of Thomas Dale Beare

BEARE, Thomas Dale

On Friday, November 30, 2018, Thomas Dale Beare passed away at the age of 68.  Dale was predeceased by his father and mother, Jack and Lora Beare; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Rennick; and his brother, Dick.  Dale is survived by his loving wife, Barb; sons: Jamey (Erin), Michael (Celeste), and Adam (Crystal); and grandchildren: Nate, Sarah, Gabriel, Max, and Aurora.

Dale was born in Regina and grew up on the family farm southwest of the city.  He lived there his whole life, other than a short time after marriage when he and Barb rented an apartment in the city.  Dale and his family lived in the house that his grandfather built in 1922.

After attending Lakeview School and Sheldon-Williams Collegiate, Dale then went on to the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus to further his education. In the spring of 1972, he earned a Certificate of Education with a focus on adult education.  During this time, he met his wife and they were married on October 7, 1972.

Dale had a strong interest in racing and spent a few years building and racing a 1972 Plymouth Duster. He was also a competitive curler, and along with his teammates, he travelled all across western Canada to compete in bonspiels.  Through his love of curling, he made many long-lasting friendships.

Dale and Barb welcomed their first son, Jamey, in 1975. Michael was later born in 1979, and Adam arrived in 1983. Dale and Barb and the boys worked together farming six quarters of land, operating an egg business, and running an agricultural retail business. Around 1994, they decided to quit the egg business and expand their grain farming operation.

The agricultural retail business became one of Dale’s passions on the farm.  He loved to connect with people and enjoyed the work.  After completing their university degrees, Jamey, Michael, and Adam also came to be a part of their farming operation known as Trilogy Farms.

Dale and Barb spent summers working on the farm and were fortunate to be able to travel to many wonderful places in the winter.  However, once Dale discovered the beauty of Jan Lake in northern Saskatchewan, it became his favourite place in the world—a place where they were always able to get away for a few days every summer to unwind.

Dale enjoyed people and always had time for coffee around the kitchen table any time someone stopped by the farm.  In fact, most of his business was conducted at that table.

Dale will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
