Obituary of Mary Anne Fogarty

Her husband took her hand and whispered ‘Welcome Dear’ it’s been so very long – we won’t be parted here

 

Mary was born January 24, 1930 and died peacefully, surrounded by her children and grandchildren in Regina, Saskatchewan on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the age of 88. She has now reunited with her loving husband of 60 years, Jim, in heaven.

 

Mary was predeceased by parents John and Ellen; brothers Patrick and Michael; and sisters Nora and Eileen. She is survived by sons Michael (Alison), Kevin (Sue), and Timothy (Mary Lou); daughter Bernadette (Larry); and sister Margaret. Mary’s legacy continues in each of her seven grandchildren: Patrick (Corrie), Erin (Ash), Thomas (Kim), Colin, Danny (Lindsey), Ryan, and Molly (Zach); and great-grandsons Keegan and Declan. She will be lovingly remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends in Ireland, England, United States, and Canada.

 

Mary was born in County Limerick, Ireland and immigrated to Canada, settling in Regina in 1957. Here, Mary was an active and dedicated member of Little Flower Parish and a cherished volunteer with Special Olympics. Both her and Jim were lifelong volunteers, serving their community with humility, grace, and an unprecedented love every day of their lives. Mary was a woman of faith and family and will be forever missed and loved by all who knew her.

 

Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower Parish, 420 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life.
