Obituary of Frederick Eugene Klassoff

Frederick Eugene Klassoff, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his parents Emil and Erma Klassoff; sister Betty Klassoff, and brother Greg Klassoff. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lillian; son Brian (Gloria) of Regina, SK; daughter Wendy (Michael) Mushansky of Regina; son Clifford of Regina; daughter Joy (Cam) Friesen of Prince Albert, SK; seven grandchildren, Kerina (Brett), Krista (Michael), Katie Rose, Kash, Jordan, Jenna and Sara; and four great-grandchildren, Khristian, Alastair, Anderson, and Ocean; sister Rosemary of Langley, BC; and brother, Gordon of Nanaimo, BC.

Fred was born on the farm in Frankslake, SK. He was the third child of five in the family. Fred attended elementary school in Regina and then high school in Edenwold. Fred met Lillian in grade 8 at Hednesford School in Frankslake. They courted for several years and were married on June 21, 1952. They resided in Regina where they raised their family.

Fred worked in the plumbing industry his entire career. He worked at E & P (now Westburne) for several years and then Crane Canada until his retirement at age 65. Fred then worked as a consultant until the age of 80!

Fred was a kind and generous man who gave to the community. He was involved in church, sporting, political, and business organizations over the years. Upon retirement he volunteered at the Regina General Hospital for over a decade. Fred worked to make the world a better place and was always willing to give his time and energy to build the community.

Fred was a dedicated husband and family man investing in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He worked hard and gave freely. Fred had a friendly and easy way about him. He was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. Over the years Fred enjoyed many hobbies including golf, reading, and bird-watching.

Fred your kind and gentle spirit touched so many and will be remembered.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the ER and 5E at the Regina General Hospital for their care, support, and compassion during Fred’s last hours.

Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:00 am with Pastor Don Koch officiating. Private family interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined.
