Obituary of Allan John Martin
MARTIN, Allan John
Allan made his final journey on Friday, December 28, 2018 with his family by his side. Allan was born on November 18, 1956. He was predeceased by his father, Lorenzo Martin in 1987. Allan is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Annette; his sons Darren (Kim); Jared (Paula); granddaughters Ashlyn and Shaelyn; his mother Joan (Roger); his brothers Brian (Wendy), Paul (Betty), Wayne (Carol), Dean (Gloria); and sister Brenda (Norm), as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his dog and best friend Duke.
Allan worked at various places such as Tire Exchange, Goodyear Farm Service, Dominion Bridge and he worked at Westeel for 39 years until he retired in 2014, after which time he worked for Site Management until his illness.
He had many stories like fishing at Bessnard Lake, Nemebian Lake, Good Spirit Lake, Pasqua and Echo Lakes and many deer, elk and moose hunting stories with family and friends. He enjoyed his trips abroad to Maui and various places in Mexico and even spending two hours trying to reel in a fish which turned out to be the “pail of water” fish.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, Regina Pasqua Emergency Department, 3B, ICU and MSU. Also, many thanks to Dave Bearrs for spending time with Allan and taking him hunting and fishing and to Dawn Johnson for her care. Thank you to everyone who supported Allan at the fundraiser. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre or the Regina Humane Society.
A Come and Go Celebration of life will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
