Kevin Gawthrop

Obituary of Kevin Michael Gawthrop

Kevin, of Regina, SK, died on Friday January 18, 2019 at the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 59 years. He was predeceased by his parents Emma and Arnold (Gus) Gawthrop. Kevin is survived by his child, Tori (Brayden) Gawthrop; as well as his siblings David (Ginny) Gawthrop and Colleen (Darryl) Smith; nephews Ryan (Katie) Gawthrop and Dustin Smith; and niece Alannah (Patrick) Loney.  He was born on December 13, 1959. He got to experience a lot of Saskatchewan during his early years as his dad was an RCMP officer and the family relocated frequently. Kevin graduated from Dr. Martin Leboldus High School. He worked as an IT analyst for 40 years and just recently retired from S.G.I where he was a key asset in initiating the evolution of network technology.  On the weekends you would find him in the yard mowing the lawn or shovelling the walks with perfection. He was a kind, caring and gentle man and his daughter, Tori was the apple of his eye.  He enjoyed music whether it was playing on his keyboard with the band or blasting it on his stereo. Kevin was also known for his intelligence and humour.  With his quick wit and extensive vocabulary he could keep a conversation going forever. Kevin was loyal. His loyalty even extended to his van that he kept in pristine condition for 19 years and only recently donated to a church. Kevin will be sadly missed by all his friends and family. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Those so wishing may make memorial donations in Kevin’s name to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, 3535 8th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 0T6.
