We did not know Uncle Joe very well, but we did see him and Aunt Rose from time to time. I remember specifically a trip through Regina with my grandparents (Aunt Rose's brother, my grandfather). My one and, I believe, only stay at the house. What a magnificent place.. I don't think I had and/or ever will see anything like it again. Another memory comes from when Uncle Joe and Aunt Rose were in Winnipeg a number of years ago (I believe for my Grandfather's birthday), they stayed with us and we had a great time. Many stories were told and I learned a lot about Uncle Joe at that time. He was definitely an interesting man. I'm sorry that I hadn't made another trip out to Regina to visit. Our sincerest condolences to the family, may Joe rest in peace. Gord and Cindy Tomiuk, and Jenny Zibresky

Dear family of Joe
We remember Joe as a man who had many talents and loved to tell stories. His stories of growing up in Germany inspired us to travel to Freiburg when we were in Germany.
We also know that he loved his family and was very proud of all of you.
Our deepest sympathy as you say "til we meet again" to your Opa,
Reta & Art Poulton

I am sorry to learn of Joe’s passing. I came to know Joe through golf. Through that introduction I learned that Joe knew my dad well. Like Joe, my dad was a master finishing carpenter. From Joe I learned exactly what that meant and if Joe said something or someone was good, it was good. I am not sure that Joe ever knew how much that meant to me so I’m letting you know that it meant the world. Joe was a good man and like all golfers looked forward to the next round. I am sure he has found it.

I have known Joe for almost 30 years. He loved to tell stories of his life in Germany and his coming to Canada and his work which he was very proud of. He loved Rose greatly and told many skiing stories and about their other adventures. He also spoke of his granddaughters often. I was sad to hear of his passing. He was always kind to me and I will miss him.
