My condolences, Diana, to you and to all of the children. Jerry was a special part of Regina Catholic, and a special person to those of us fortunate enough to have worked with him. And teaching some of his children was an added bonus. As well, I knew you as a colleague, so I feel connected to the Adams family in a number of ways, and feel a small part of your great loss.
May God give you the strength to move forward, and may you be comforted in all the wonderful memories you made with Jerry.
Jerry's making one final trip to the bank.

Jerry was the Principal and teacher at St. Gregory, which I attended, in the 1980's. I remember him fondly. He was always pleasant and, yes, cracking jokes. I also remember he contributed a lot of articles to the leaderpost in the opinion column, they were always a pleasure to read. To his family, my deepest condolences on the loss of a great man.
Sincerely,
Shelley Selinger (St. Gregory student)

Dear Diana, Simon, Karen, Marc, Matthew, Jason, Megan and families,
We are very sorry for your loss. Jerry was one of a kind and it was a pleasure to know him. He gave so much of himself to the Regina Catholic School community, and he truly made a difference. As a teacher and principal, he looked for innovative ways to help students learn. The SMUT (St. Michael's Underhanded Tournament) volleyball tournament for school staffs that he founded many years ago did so much to boost morale during the dark winter days; the fun, creativity and camaraderie it provided brought many colleagues together to form long-lasting friendships and provide wonderful memories. As a trustee, Jerry supported many school events and projects and his presence was always very much appreciated. His frequent, and always brief, letters to the Leader Post provided wit and acute observations on many topics. Jerry will be greatly missed.

We were fortunate to have known EJ - the whole family. He was a spark with a creative mind. As a trustee, EJ drove me to board meetings for 12 years - we had lots of laughs, I learned about Mihaela Jackson - not Michael - and that music, played to the soul of the receiver, can tell a significant story. My kids enjoyed watching the 180’s/donuts he pulled in winter when picking me up at my doorstep. He loved his family, said Diana was a saint, which I agree, and only held a few people as trusted advisors. He was smart, loved seeing families involved in their children’s education, liked to make others laugh, always had a joke (never politically correct), appreciated the strength and importance of women in life and the church, and loved driving - always. He was never afraid of consequences when speaking his mind, left a mindful footprint for his grandchildren of strength, commitment, laughter and to be loved. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I was very sorry to learn that Jerry had passed away. I haven't seen him in many years but I have lots of fond memories of our time together at the U of S. He played on the volleyball team when I did and was an exceptionally good player.
My wife and I send our condolences to his family...

Jerry was a good friend to many. He and I were on the School Board together for many years. I enjoyed his jokes--in recent years whenever I saw him he would give me a card or two with one or more jokes on them. I admired his dedication to education--teacher, principal, trustee. I was in awe of his piercings and his Tilley Hats.
He was a good guy who loved his family dearly and will be missed by them and many others.
Happy trails Jerry.

EJ was Principal and teacher at St. Matthew’s in 1963 &1964 where I attended with two of my sisters. Looking back over your grade school history there are few who profoundly and positively influence you. EJ was that teacher for me and many others. He introduced students to ‘Gilbert and Sullivan’ and a steady supply of jelly beans. Class was suspended in light of the assassination of John F Kennedy which we all watched on the school’s first television. This was the most fitting response to an event that has had such a profound historical influence. At the end of his career EJ was Principal at St. Pius X which my daughter attended in 1985. Fond memories!

So sorry to hear this news. I remember Jerry fondly from our days in the two city school boards. We didn't always agree, but the arguing was always with humour and good will. He introduced me to "The Economist" magazine, and I think of him every time I pick up a copy. He's on my prayer list.

I remember Mr. Adams from my years at St. Gregory elementary school. I have fond memories of Kermit the Frog, his sense of humour, and his never ending supply of jellybeans in his office. He was a great leader for the school, and the students. May he rest comfortably.

My deepest condolences to the Adams Family. I was a student of Mr. Adams at St. Michael’s School in the late 70’s. I have many fond memories of him teaching me math and him being happy that Canada had changed to the metric system. It was about time that we caught up with the rest of the world was his remark. I ran into Mr. Adams last February at Costco and we spoke for a bit and he ended up telling me a joke. He said that he had a dream that he was a muffler and that he woke up exhausted. I had a good laugh. He will be sorely missed.
