Obituary of Norma Maureen Evans

Maureen passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Regina General Hospital. Her life began in December 1925 at Hazeldean Farm, south of Disley Saskatchewan. Maureen was delivered by her grandmother and aunt. She grew up on the family farm with her two brothers, Martin and Ken. She married Percy in October 1949, and welcomed daughter Gaylene in 1950 and daughter Terry in 1953. Maureen and Percy enjoyed 57 years of marriage. They spent many winters in Arizona, the rest of the year with family back in Saskatchewan. Maureen will be remembered by family as a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all. She enjoyed playing a game of cribbage with her grandsons and visiting with her great-granddaughters. Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Mary Kidd; brothers, Martin and Ken Kidd; husband Percy Evans; daughter Gaylene Notenboom; and son-in-law Pleun Notenboom. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Terry (Ian); grandsons, Robert (Krista), Christopher (Jasmine), and Owein (Danielle); great-granddaughters, Hanna, Natalia, Alena, and Elsa; as well as her nieces and nephews. A graveside service to celebrate Maureen’s life will be held in the Lumsden Cemetery on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A come and go tea will follow at the Lumsden Dew Drop In, 275 James Street N, Lumsden, SK. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends so wishing, may make memorial donations in Maureen’s name to St. Andrew’s United Church, Box 734, Lumsden, SK, S0G 3C0.
