Obituary of Rollande Rollins
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother in the early morning hours of Monday, February 11, 2019. Born in Dumas, SK, mom grew up and attended school in Montmartre, SK. After completing high school she moved to Regina where she worked at the Grey Nuns Hospital and later for the Federal Government. It was in Regina in 1946 that she met and married the love of her life, Lloyd Douglas (Doug) Rollins. In 1953 they moved to Estevan where they lived until returning to Regina in 1965. Mom’s family was her first priority, and she was a wonderful, loving, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Ann and Ludovic Goulet; her brother Clovis (Boots); sisters Joyce and Claire; and grandson Brett. Rollie will be deeply missed by her five children, daughter Cheryl (Aime); sons Stuart (Leslie), Mitch (Joanne), and Brad (Darcee); daughter Brenda; “adopted” daughter Elaine; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Ken (Louise) Goulet; sister-in-law Leona Goulet, brother-in-law Robert Ayotte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom soldiered on for thirty seven years after the death of her husband Doug in 1982. She led a long and fulfilling life and remained independent to the end with the help and loving support of her beloved daughter Brenda. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. J.S. McMillan and staff for the many, many years of loving care. Thanks also to the doctors and staff of Pasqua Emergency and Unit 4B for all their care in mom’s final days. Thank you to Betty-Anne and Brooke from Bayshore for their kind care of mom, and special thanks to daughter-in-law Darcee who on many occasions stepped in to care so lovingly for mom when Brenda was unavailable. Mom had a great faith and a great devotion to the rosary. She prayed for her family daily and was a long-time member of St. Martin’s R.C. Parish. She must be having a grand time reunited with her love Doug and all her family and friends. “See you again soon Mom”. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
