Obituary of Frederick Earl Howard

Fred passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 with his loving family by his side.  Fred was born July 11, 1927 to Fred and Mattie Howard.  Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty years, Patricia. Left to cherish his memory are his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren – Brenda/Greg Gritzfeld, (Jenna Gritzfeld/Dave Thornton, Tessa/Shaun, Kade and Karter Sullivan, Colton), Bart/Ingrid (Alanna/Dan, Aidan and Lily Knobben, Ashley/Mark, Coen and Erik Vandenbrink, Katelyn/Drew, Ella and Ben Reghenas), Brad/Karen (Kabree, Kylee); close friends and in-laws, Doreen Kraus, Fran/Gord Kullman; many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Fred’s life centered around Patricia, his children and grandchildren.  His love of sports as a player evolved into roles of coach, supporter and cheerleader for all of his family.  He also loved get-togethers with relatives/friends. He loved reading and always had a crossword puzzle on the go.   Integrity and honesty were his core values demonstrated in the relationships he made and in his long-time career as Regina’s City Clerk.   He will be remembered by all for his incredible sense of humour.  The family is sincerely grateful for the compassionate care Fred received from the Accountable Care Unit at the Regina Pasqua Hospital.
