Was very saddened to learn of Bobs passing. Our Mom and him were partners for many years and I have kept In Touch with him by phone and Christmas cards for many years. Our family has many fond memories of Bob loved his wonderful laugh, and of course his great cooking skills. I had a phone chat with Bob not long ago so feel very sad for all of his family that are left. Hope you meet our Mom in heaven Bob. Xo

Bob was a great friend in years gone by! His broadcasting curling games was my fondest memory. He was a great sports caster with an ideal voice for the job! I will always remember Bob. Condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to Bob's family.
I had the very good fortune to meet Bob on the golf course in 2004. He had had recent surgery and was limited to 9 holes walking and then 9 holes with a cart. We enjoyed each other's company and played several times together in the early morning. The following year, I moved to a different course and returned to his course in 2009. Bob had his own cart now and insisted that I ride with him. We must have shared at least 80 early morning rounds. Bob was quite a storyteller as he shared many funny and interesting stories during his radio broadcast days. Bob had an opinion on every subject and every round was entertaining. There was severe vandalism to the course in Oct. Therefore, I moved to a different course from 2010 to 2016, returning to his course in 2017. After a 7 year absence, the first golfers I met on my first day of golf was Bob and his friend, Ron. They now only played 9 holes each day while I played 9 holes before they arrived and I joined them on my second 9. Bob's health was failing, but he loved golf and played as many rounds as possible.
I believe that I played golf with Bob on his final round in Oct., 2017. His health prevented him from returning to golf in 2018. I visited him in the hospital in Aug., 2018. We shared a lot of stories and laughter during our final time together and he was always the optimist.
Bob was a good friend to so many and will always be sincerely missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob Hutton at CKRM in the late 70s. We called Bob "The Dean of Sports" in those days because of his wealth of knowledge. He did curling play-by-play on the radio and I think I still have a "Hutton on the Button" promotional pin somewhere at home.
You could often find Bob and Sam Richardson holding court downstairs in the old Regina Curling Club on Halifax Street most days after work.
Bob was also a great student of the CFL and during the football season hosted a show with Ron Lancaster and George Reed.
Rest in Peace Bob.

sad to hear that Bob has passed on.....(will probably be looking up Sam Richardson right now)...I worked with Bob when he was GM at CJME and then again at CKRM when he was the Sports Director....he was the only broadcaster I've ever seen who could walk into the booth with the Leader Post and ad-lib a 5 minute sportscast.....he was a character for sure....called a few curling games in southern Saskatchewan along side Bob...and we had a good time...especially at the Southern Consul play downs in Assiniboia...Bob was always up for a "good time"....my condolences to his family.....

I worked with Bob in the mid 70's and early 80's at CKRM and enjoyed every min with that guy. He loved curling more than anyone I ever met and he was always up for a laugh.
He was a terrific broadcaster that was blessed with one of the best voices in the game.
Sad news for sure.
