Obituary of Gerald John O'Hagan

On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, Gerald O’Hagan passed away at the age of 94. He is survived by his loving family, daughter Cara-Marie (Robin MacKnight); son Rory (Brenda Zimmerman); grandchildren Aisling and Cecily MacKnight; and brother Freddy. Predeceased by his adoring wife of 56 years, Helen (Kaufmann); brother Dermot; and parents Alfred and Mary (Harte). Gerry was born in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland on December 5, 1924 and served in the RAF during WW II. He immigrated to Canada in 1953, initially making his home in Toronto. On the voyage to Canada, Gerry met Helen, a native of Saskatchewan, and followed her to Regina in 1954. They married in 1956 and settled in Regina, where Gerry taught high school, at Scott, Martin and Central Collegiates. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on March 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Gerald’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 2550 12^th  Avenue, Regina, S4P 3X1.
