Sheila Stevenson

Obituary of Sheila Stevenson

Sheila passed to her eternal life on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the age of 98 years. She was predeceased by her husband Dave; her parents Jim and Molly Kavanagh; and her brother and sister-in-law Pat and Madeline Kavanagh; Sheila is survived by her nephew Marwood Kavanagh of Regina; and her niece Eileen (Jim) Barks of California and their families. Sheila never met a stranger.  She was the epitome of LIFE, LOVE AND LAUGHTER. Fiercely proud of her Irish background she loved all things Irish. Sheila loved to travel and did so with her husband and then her friends. Her family often teased her for being a “groupie” as she and a couple of girlfriends travelled throughout Canada and into the U.S. to attend Daniel O’Donnell concerts.  At the age of 83, she travelled with her family for her only trip to Ireland and loved every moment.  At age 88, you could find her at the Lawson pool in the evening swimming with her fellow “Floating Stones” topping the evening off with Midnight coffee at Timmy’s.  We find comfort that our Sheila went to meet God face to face on St. Patrick’s Day. As the Irish and Sheila would say, “May you be a half hour in heaven, before the Devil knows you’re gone.”  The family is planning a private ceremony to honor Sheila at a later date.

“We love you Aunt Sheila, bye bye for now!”
