Obituary of Isabel Edith Szeles

Isabel Edith Szeles, late of Cupar SK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the age of 78 years. She was predeceased by her parents Fredrick and Elise Day; and son-in-law Kip Nesbitt. Isabel is survived by her husband William; her family, Judy Nesbitt (McHale), Melissa McHale and Zuri, Anthony McHale and Jetsyn; Tim Szeles; Junita (Jeff) Fawcett, Kayla and Nicholas (Anna); Joanna (David) Lorence, Jesse, Bailey, Brody, and Kelsey; Joaleen (Wade) Unger, Lena, Julia and Aubree; three sisters, Evelyn (John) Ballan, Bernice Oltean, and Shirley (Roy) Oltean; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Isabel enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, sewing, gardening, cake decorating, snuggling her fur babies, farm life, auction sales, and was an avid collector of many things. Her other loves were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spoke of them often, telling stories or asking where they are and what they are up to. Isabel had her own style. She enjoyed her high heels and bright lipstick.

Isabel worked as a housekeeper/Nanny over the years and then in 1971 became employed at Cupar Union Hospital, where she worked for 20 plus years until it closed in September 1993. She also spent 15 years as Volunteer Ambulance Attendant. Later on, Isabel worked as a cook in Southey and a numerator.

On May 1, 2012, Isabel had her first stroke that affected her left side. She received therapy in Moose Jaw at Providence Place, then becoming a resident of Cupar District Nursing Home in July of 2012. Isabel considered Shalom her second home.

Her legacy will continue to exist in this community and within our hearts.  May she forever rest in peace.
