I had been travelling down memory lane, rereading letters and looking at old photographs of our days in Bull River. I always enjoyed time spent with Janet and was saddened to learn she had died. I was heartened by all the good work she was able to do to help others.

I was very sad to hear the news of Janet’s death. Such a loss of a great person. I worked with Janet over the years on many different projects. Over many drives to Saskatoon and back we shared stories, laughed, and through our time together she taught me a lot about child welfare. I was honoured that both she and ‘Connie’ came to my retirement. My deepest sympathy to all the family.

I knew Janet in high school in Lahr, Germany back in the late 60s. I hadn’t seen her in 50 years, but we had re-connected on Facebook a few years ago. I was very sad to hear she had passed away and want to offer my sincere condolences to her family. She died far too young.

I was saddened to hear this news about Janet. I worked with her at Social Services. She was a champion for children and families. My office was next door to her office on 12th floor for a few years. Smart, humorous (enjoyed her "Connie from Oxbow" gig!), loved stats and policy too. The obituary write up was beautiful. She will be missed.
Sincerely, Janice Colquhoun

My! What a huge loss of such a special person! Jan was one of a kind! She lived her life remarkably and left a huge legacy in this world! Above all her passions, you, her family, was her greatest!
Heaven will be a lot noisier now with the laughter she will bring!

I want to extend my deepest sympathies to Phil and family. I had the pleasure of working with Janet and respecting her as a great social worker. I also witnessed her wonderful sense of humour many times as well as following her tai chi moves. She will be greatly missed.

Janet was our social worker when we were blessed with our first adoption.
The day she called me and said “we have a baby for you,” I believe her hearing was never the same after I screamed in her ear.
I was very sad to see the news.
Although I do not know her family she is a woman who I have held close to my heart for over 23 years now.
Her amazing writhing is what I believed guided Ryley’s birthfamily to choose us.
Our deepest condolences to all of her family and friends.
