Obituary of Henry Heinek

It is with great sadness that the family of Henry Heinek announces his passing on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Henry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Theresia; his children, Erwin (Sandra), Sylvia (Glen), Robert and John (Angie); his grandchildren, Colby (Whitney), Virginia and Emily; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Elisabeth; brother Hans; and sister Elisabeth.  Henry was born in Tofu, Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1949. He married Theresia in 1958 and raised their four children while working at Weston’s Bakeries for 36 years until his retirement. He was a faithful supporter and member of the Regina Coin Club for 45 years and was also an avid stamp collector and belonged to the Regina Philatelic Club for many years. Henry devoted much of his time to his love of gardening and was a master at growing peppers, tomatoes and beautiful flowers.  A Celebration of Henry’s Life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1900 Ottawa St, Regina, SK on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and the many staff of the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their extraordinary compassion and care during Henry’s time spent there.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Henry’s name to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
