Obituary of Louis Kangles

It is with great sadness that the Family of Louis Kangles announce the passing of our father on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. He was predeceased by his parents John and Katherine Kangles; brother Tino Kangles; and sister Diane Egarhos. Louis is survived by his brother George Kangles; his sister Eleftheria Tirovolas; his children, Chris Kangles and his partner Tanya, John Kangles and his wife Kelly, Kate Ritz and her partner Stuart, and Nicole Kangles; and grandchildren, Charles Conant, Andrew Conant, Andreas Kangles and Matthias Kangles. Louis was born in Kastri Greece on Dec 27, 1934 and at the age of 16 immigrated to Canada. He had a deep love for the Greek community and the Greek culture and built his life here specializing in the hospitality and restaurant industry. He owned several restaurants including the Town and Country, Villa Pizza, The Astoria, and Louis' on Broad. Louis will always be remembered for how he loved the Greek community and the Greek culture. He absolutely loved his friends and family. There was never a day that went by that Louis wasn’t hosting the afternoon coffee party or going for coffee at the famous “plateia” in Southland mall to visit with friends and solve the world's problems. Louis loved and was so proud of his home country Greece. He had an amazing knowledge of the history of Greece and was always happy to share stories about it. He loved spending his summers in his hometown Kastri, Greece with his family and friends. Louis also loved a great Poker game. He will always be remembered by the many stories he loved to share and how if you needed five mins to talk he had five minutes to listen. He will be sadly missed but his stories will continue to be shared. May his memory be eternal.  Prayers will be held at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina, SK, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
