Obituary of Judith Ann Pedersen

On Thursday, June 13, 2019 Judi ended her battle with cancer to be with her predeceased husband James (Jim); parents Marion and Bertine and infant brother Barry. Her memory lives strong amongst her brothers, Gary (Florence) and Ross (Lynette); sons, Lee (Tracy), Reid (Laureen) and Rod (Cindy); grandchildren, Sydney, Jordyn, Brett, Alyia, Alyssa and Caeley; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Judi was born on July 19, 1943 in Regina and was raised on the family farm south of Milestone attending the one room McCoy School and then graduating grade 12 in Milestone in 1961. Her youth consisted of helping out at home, being a talented left-handed first baseman and partaking in many 4-H Club activities. After high school Judi attended Marvel Beauty School in Regina to kick off her hairstyling career. In 1963 she opened her own salon on Main Street Milestone and later continued her passion travelling the province to provide training and setting up a salon in her home(s) as life progressed. She married Jim in October of 1965 and welcomed their first son, Lee in 1966 followed by Reid in ’68 and then Rod in ’72. Her drive and determination culminated in Judi’s various careers; Avon Rep, Administration at the Milestone school, the Credit Union, The Rider Store, a few retail stores in Regina and the Carrington Court in Milestone. She was very goal oriented and with pride moved from the farm into her dream home in Milestone in 1988. All that met Judi knew her beauty was as strong inside as it was outside. She was filled with a strong commitment to her community. She had so much care and compassion for children. Friends were very important to her and she treasured her dear friendships. Her true passion was her family. She had an intense love and passion for her immediate family and her beloved grandchildren but also her extended family. Along with those characteristics, Judi is remembered for her love of sports, her dynamic personality and true kindness. A Celebration of Judi’s life will be held at the Milestone United Church, on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing, may make memorial donations in Judi’s name to Milestone Minor Hockey.
