Obituary of Agnes Delores Gottselig

GOTTSELIG, Agnes Dolores

It is with profound sadness our family announces that Agnes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the age of 80 years, with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Paul; her parents, Steve and Magdelena Matsalla; and siblings, Jean, Ann, Josephine, Edward, and John. Agnes is survived by her children, Shelley Keiser (Tony Hellrung), Darryl (Anita) Gottselig, Garth (Michelle) Gottselig, and Sheri (Micheal) Kupper; grandchildren, Lance, Leo, Paul, Matthew, Sarah, Jared, Dawson, Russel, Doyle, and Braelyn; great-granddaughter Willow; and siblings, Blanche and William. Agnes was born February 26, 1939 in Hinchcliffe, SK. After completing school, she worked in the nutrition department of hospitals in both Winnipeg and Saskatoon. Agnes married Paul Gottselig July 20, 1963, and they made their home in Regina. Agnes was a home-maker and devoted herself to raising her family. She was a talented seamstress, sewing clothing for her children, and a wonderful baker with Christmas sweets everyone looked forward to. Agnes also worked outside the home, at Simpson-Sears, and in later years, Sears as a telephone order operator. After retirement, Agnes enjoyed travelling south to Puerto Vallarta with Paul, making many happy memories. She was a devoted, loving, protective mother and grandmother, always taking great pride in her family. She will be dearly missed by her family, she was one of a kind. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff on 6F at the Regina General Hospital, and a heartfelt thanks to all the staff at William Albert Care Home for the wonderful compassionate care they provided her. A Celebration of Life for Agnes will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina SK on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
