Mary, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at the age of 87 years at the Regina General Hospital with her children by her side. She was predeceased by her husband George; parents Margaret and Ludwig (Louis) Senger; four sisters, Catherine, Regina, Magdalena, and Christina (in infancy); five brothers, Thomas (in infancy), John, Paul, Michael, and Jacob; and daughter-in-law Brenda. She is survived by six children, Vonnie (Brent) Mathie, Sharon, Rose, Debra (Paul) Mageau, Kevin, and Anita; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was born October 1, 1931, on the farm in Sedley, Saskatchewan. At 18, Mary moved to the big city of Regina where she met George. Together they raised five children. In 1994, Mary reconnected with her oldest daughter, Vonnie, who she had given up for adoption as a baby. If you ask any of her children they will resoundingly tell you mom was the best cook and baker. Mary also enjoyed puzzles, knitting, gardening, and watching Rider and Blue Jay games. She loved meeting people, be that at work, where she lived or organizations she belonged to. Mary belonged to the CWL (Catholic Woman’s League) at St. Mary’s Church, Corps of Imperial Frontiersmen, and Board of Directors at Embury Heights. She enjoyed taking part in activities at her final home for the last two years - Parkside Extendicare as well as many trips taken with her children. Mary also enjoyed the people she worked with at the WaWa Shrine Temple, Starlight Drive-In and Hotel Saskatchewan where she had the great honour of serving HRH Queen Elizabeth II. A Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. A private family interment in Riverside Memorial Park will be held at a later date. Mary was a very giving person. Friends so wishing may make a donation, in memory of Mary, to the charity of your choice.
