Obituary of Jean Anne Schulhauser
Our loving Jean Anne (Melenchuk) Schulhauser passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the age of 95. She is reunited with her husband of 70 years Edwin, son Kenneth, parents Margaret (Nanny) and Nikolas, and siblings Lena, George, Henry, Tony, Nasataria, William, Samuel, Mary, Eddie, and Irene.
Jean will be deeply missed by her sister Mary-Anne, brother-in-law Johnny, son Neil (Shawn), her grandchildren, Lindsay (Tina) Schulhauser, Amanda (Tyler) Krenbrink, Justin (Sara) Schulhauser, Aimee (Dean) Schulhauser, Michelle (Kevin) Schulhauser, and Scott (Jennifer) Schulhauser, and her great-grandchildren Aiden, Kaydence, Halle, Mila, Willa, Hanna, and Heidi. Her love for people, contagious smile, kind heart, caring nature, wittiness, and catch phrases will be carried on by everyone who knew her.
Jean was born on February 6, 1924 on a farm South of Dysart, Saskatchewan. She attended Dysart school and then proceeded on to the Teachers college in Regina. She began teaching in 1943 and retired in 1968. Jean and Edwin wed July 28, 1948 and began their family farm South of Cupar where they raised their two sons. Jean was a devoted member of the CWL and the Cupar St. Patrick’s Parish. She spent may hours visiting the sick and offering support to Edwin and the funeral home. Jean always happily fed and clothed everyone that came to visit the family farm, “eat don’t you love me.”
Our family would like to thank everyone at the Cupar and District Nursing Home for all the love and care she received over the past 10 years. We are certain that her bossing them around, shuffling down the halls, and her planned escapes will be deeply missed.
Donations may be made to the Cupar and District Nursing Home, Box 310, Cupar, SK S0G 0Y0 or the St. Patrick’s Parish, Cupar, in her honour.
A Funeral Mass to honor Jean will be held at the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Cupar, SK on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A lunch will follow at the Cupar Town Hall.
