Obituary of May Catherine Ostlund

September 1, 1923 - August 19, 2019

May Catherine Ostlund of Regina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 95 – just 13 days shy of her 96^th birthday! Predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Mary Elder; husbands, Russell Ledingham (1967) and Bill Ostlund (2008); all five of her siblings: Elma Vancise, Alfred Elder, Jim Elder, Flora Cusack and Ken Elder. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joy Woodard, granddaughter, Janelle Woodard (Joseph Dojack) and great-granddaughter, Ryder; as well as deeply missed by extended-family and friends around the world. May had so many loves; Teaching (at Colgate and Weyburn schools), Watching sports (The Riders, Blue Jays, Curling and Olympics), Playing the piano (so many singalongs), Travelling (everywhere!) and Shopping (loved wearing the newest fashion); but most of all, she loved people. She loved entertaining, spending time with family and friends, and you always saw a smile on her face and a drink in her hand. To all of you remembering May, we say “raise a glass and think of all the great memories you had together.” We would like to thank all of the care staff at Wintergreene Estates for the incredible care, love and friendship they gave to May. You all contributed so much to the joy and happiness she had in her final years. Thank you! At May’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice in May’s memory. May will forever be in all of our hearts.
