Obituary of Arthur Elmor Pearce

It is with deep sadness the family of Art Pearce announces the death of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on August 28 following a short illness.

He was pre-deceased by his grandparents Elmor and Florence Killaby, his mother Thelma Crispin, his father and mother-in-law Bruce and Edna McLeod, his brother Bill Pearce, his only son Bruce Pearce, his oldest grandson Christopher Hamilton, his brother-in-law Dick Sparn and his nephew David Sparn.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Merle Pearce, daughters Lynn Hamilton and Lee (Randy) Vollman, daughter-in-law Tone (Spence Miller) Pearce, son-in-law Donald Hamilton, grandchildren Sherri (Dean) Blackburn, Jason (Angela Stewart) Hamilton, Melanie Vollman, Kyle (Jenese) Vollman, Tomesine (Coel Moltz) Pearce, Tomelise (Matt) Stefan, Tomelene Pearce and Tomenette Pearce, granddaughter in-law Christine Hamilton, and beloved great-grandchildren Landyn Vollman, Makayla and Madilynn Hamilton, Cash and Carter Blackburn, and Jude and Remy Vollman. He is also survived by his two sisters-in-law Lee Sparn and Myrtle Fisher, his step-brother Larry (Laurie) Pearce and many nieces and nephews.

Art was a man who made friends readily, and was recognized for his warm welcome, ready laugh and attention to others. He worked for nearly 40 years for Regina Transit, first as a driver and then as the first Telebus supervisor. A lifelong sports fan, he was a season ticket holder for more than 60 years with the Regina Pats and more than 50 years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Art and Merle had a cottage at Regina Beach where they spent their summers golfing, boating and enjoying time spent with their many friends. However, his greatest pleasure was found in family gatherings and in road trips going anywhere that involved being with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Art’s Celebration of Life will be held on September 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel at 2136 College Ave.
