Obituary of Irmgard Schnurr

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irmgard Schnurr on Friday, August 30, 2019 just shy of her 86^th birthday at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family, where she went to recuperate after a brief stay in the hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Wendelin in 1972; and her sister and brother-in-law Irene and Pius Fix in 2011.  She is survived by her daughter Elisabeth Fogarty and her son-in-law, Ladd Fogarty and their children, her grandchildren, Mia, Joshua (Tomoko) and Kaitlyn; her great-grandchildren, Geneva, Danielle, Jayden, Lukas, Lysithea, Leilani and Kai; her niece Rosemarie Macdonald and her family; nephew Roland Fix and his family; and cousins Hilde Haaf and Melitta Geier in Germany. After 20 years of employment at Regina General Hospital, she enjoyed over 20 years of retirement. Irmgard was a very generous woman who spent much time lovingly caring for grandchildren and spoiling them as they were growing up.  She was in excellent health, despite having been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia over a decade ago and took pride in the fact that she was able to stay in her home, care for it beautifully, and be independent.   We wish to thank all of the staff of Regina General Hospital who attended to Irmgard’s care, both in emergency and on 6F- she spoke very highly of the quality of the care she received, especially from the nurses attending to her. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Regina General Hospital, 1440 14^th Avenue Regina, SK, S4P 0W5 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3, would be greatly appreciated.
