Obituary of Emilie Anne Sebastian
SEBASTIAN, Emilie Anne
(November 18th, 1927 – September 18th, 2019)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother Emilie in Kelowna, B.C. on September 18th, 2019 at the age of 91 years. In her last days, Emilie experienced comfort and joy when many of her children travelled to Kelowna to say their goodbyes. Emilie passed away with her devoted daughter and caregiver Laurie by her side.
Emilie was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine Hudacek, her brother Frank, her daughter Christine and husband of 59 years, Al.
She is by survived by her brothers, Bob (Rose) and Eddie (Agnes); her sisters, Elsie, Evelyn and Irene. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dolores (David), Sidney, Suleil, Paul, Mark and Laurie (Paul); her grandchildren, Charity, Cora Lee, Christopher, Sundance, Jesse, Vittorio, Vincenzo, Morgan, Lara, Carly, Adam; and her great grandchildren, Justice, Justin, Emilie, Victoria, Tallica.
Emilie was born on a farm outside of Esterhazy, the oldest of 7 children. She lived there until the age of 23 when she married Al on October 30th, 1950 and they moved to Regina. Together they raised 7 children. The centre of Emilie’s life was her family and her Roman Catholic Faith. Emilie had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all her children remember growing up reciting the nightly family rosary. She found great peace within the Love of God Charismatic Community prayer group she attended during the 1970’s. Emelie was member of the CWL at Little Flower Parish for 59 years, a lifelong commitment she is very proud of. She also served others as a volunteer at the Marian Centre and was a foster parent with World Vision for more than 20 years.
A Celebration of Emilie’s Life will be held at Little Flower Parish (420 College Avenue) on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regina Early Learning Centre www.earlylearning.ca
