Obituary of John "Henry" Lazurca

Henry, late of Regina, SK, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the age of 79 years, with family by his side. He was predeceased by parents Harry and Susan Lazurca; sisters Zelma and Georgina; brothers Ted and George; sister-in-law Lillian; brothers-in-law Ray, Lloyd and Gordon. Henry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diana; sons, Todd (Brenden), Blake (Lesley), and Jeremy (Donna); grandchildren, Adam and Travis; sisters, Betty (Bob), Maggie and Judy (Del); as well as many nieces and nephews from Regina and afar

Henry was born and schooled in Avonlea, SK – the seventh of eight children. He began his career as a Circulation Manager at the Moose Jaw Times Herald. And during this time, he met and married Diana and had his first son - Todd. Henry moved into accounting jobs in Estevan and later Thunder Bay. While in Estevan, he welcomed two sons - Blake and Jeremy. Henry eventually settled in Regina – where he retired.

A private man, he kept his worries and concerns to himself, but he loved to laugh. He liked to pun and pull stunts on his friends. He always put his family first. During the week he worked long hours - then devoted himself to full Saturdays with his young sons. He liked tropical fish, cooking, making wine and sitting around the campfire. He left behind lifelong friends in Saskatoon, Estevan and Thunder Bay - and a favourite show 'Highway to Heaven'.
