I remember Gordie and Valerie from when I was a child. I was one of two Junior bridesmaids at their wedding when I was nine years old. What a thrill that was for me. Sadly my family moved to Calgary and we lost touch but he was all that is said of him and more . My condolences to your family . What a man!

... my deepest sympathy Rae and Gaye, to your family and friends. The loss of a man such as Gord touches an entire community, if not a nation.
I knew Gord, or Gordie as he was called, in the "horse" world, and both appreciated his contribution, and enjoyed his company.
In the early 90s, I interviewed Gord (and Grant Armstrong) about their Central Collegiate high school days with Arthur McKay. They brought those early years alive, shedding light on not just Arthur but the "life and times" of an era.
Gord made contributions in so many areas it is hard to imagine Regina without him; but then, all of those contributions are with us, and so he remains. Blessings, Anne

I am sure my Dad, Toby Brown is passing the puck off to his good buddy right now. Mom and Dad shared many stories about the good old hockey days in Regina and the fun they all had out at the lake. Gord and Val remained long distance friends of Toby and Joan their whole lives.
From our family to yours, may the memories you share of your Dad and Mom help comfort you and keep you smiling.

I think the word "confident"is a word that applies to how Velma and I feel about Gord. Largely it stems from our association with him through the Saskatchewan Roughriders but there were other times when you were confident that Gord would get the job done or if you had a problem you were confident that you could go to him and he would find a solution. Gordon Staseson was a man of personal means but most of what he did (and it was a ton of things) he did without taking one cent for it. He did it because he loved the community of Regina and the province. It goes without saying that what he did he did well. There were no shortcuts or an attitude that it's good enough. That is the difference between a winner and a loser and Gord won all the time..
We were fortunate to have him as a citizen and a friend. His kind only comes this way once in a while. Deepest sympathy to those closest to him. May he rest in peace. He more than earned it.

Tom,Gaye and Rae,
Our condolences to you and your families. I was so sorry to hear that Gord had passed away. He meant a great deal to me and our entire family. It was such a pleasure to work with him at Sask Gaming where I got to see his leadership, vision and professionalism in action but I also got to know Gord as a good friend and mentor.
But Gord’s mentorship did not end there. He took our girls under his wing at the Junior Golf Program at the Wascana where they not only honed their golf skills but he encouraged them to take on leadership roles. Gord has always held a special place in their hearts.
Gord will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him and by the City he literally helped build. He left the world a better place. Take care,
Twyla Meredith

Dear Staseson Family,
We are so very sad to hear of Gord's passing. He touched so many lives and I am one who was a beneficiary of his knowledge, organization and mentoring. He was an inspiration and engineer to so many hosted events in Regina. I was always honoured to be asked by Gord to help with several of his initiatives.
He certainly played an important role in shaping my life and I will always remember him!
Deryl and Bernie Ring,

Dear Tom/Marilyn, Gaye, Rae, Jeff, Brittany and families.
Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Dad and Grandfather, he was truly a special man. I loved his sense of humor and his commitment to his community. He was a great hockey coach and a developer of junior golfers. The time he committed to his grandkids was wonderful to watch, and to have been part of! You truly have/had a very special man in Gord, as a father and grandfather. He has left a great legacy, not only in what he has accomplished, but in his family. Keep your memories of him close, you all have a great deal to be proud of and thankful for, having had him in your lives. And happily we were able to experience his kindness and helpfulness too.
Our Love to you all. Brenda, Kris & Ainsley Collacott.

Mary and I were deeply saddened to hear of Gord's passing. I consider it a privilege to have worked for, and with, Gord in designing and developing a number of Regina subdivisions. He had an amiable disposition and exhibited all the attributes of integrity, which we all know is a very rare trait. How fortunate Regina and Saskatchewan were to have had Gord's leadership and vision. He most definitely will be missed but remembered with great admiration and fondness.

Dear family, I need to share this story about Gord that brought a sparkle to my dads eyes. My dad and Valerie were in the same care home. Each Tuesday Gord would bring boxes of ice cream, revels, popsicles, etc. As time went on my dads memory started to fail, but when Gord came in my dad would look, take a double look, and say loudly....”there’s the ice cream man, I hope he sees me! “ Gord brought joy to many, he sure did for my dad. Condolences to the family. Pam Shaw
