BRYSON, Bruce Imrie

March 22, 1937 – October 22, 2019


It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Bryson due to complications from a stroke. Bruce was born in Edson, Alberta and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. He received his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta. Bruce was a player and coach of the Edmonton Huskies Junior football team, who won the 1962, 1963, and 1964 Canadian Championship and was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. Bruce's career moved the family from Edmonton to Calgary and back to Edmonton again before finally settling in Regina. He volunteered with Kinsmen, K40, served as the Director of the Regina Chamber of Commerce and as the President of the Industrial Park Rotary Club. Bruce was predeceased by his wife Sharon Bryson; parents, James and Doris Bryson; and brother Noel Bryson. He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Kinvig (Earl) and Erin Weismiller (Marv); grandchildren, Amanda Fischer (Jon), Justin Barber (Miranda), Ryan Weismiller, Jason Barber (Paytin), and Miles Kinvig; great-grandchildren, Josie, Emerson, and Faith. Bruce is also survived by brothers, Bradley Bryson of Edmonton and Spencer Bryson (Janet) of Kamloops; sister-in-law Janice Cruickshank of Edmonton; brother-in-law Mel Hamilton (Kathy) of Surrey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at the Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
